Anisodus acutangulus a plant is art from the genus Anisodus within the family of the nightshade family (Solanaceae). The species is common in the People's Republic of China .

description

Anisodus acutangulus is a 1 to 1.5 m high, perennial plant . It forms strong roots that are yellow-brown on the outside and pale yellow on the inside. The leaves have a 0.5 to 1 (rarely up to 1.5) cm long petiole and a 8 to 15 cm long and 3 to 6 cm wide leaf blade . This is egg-shaped or elliptical, paper-like to almost membrane-like and wedge-shaped at the base or slightly sloping down on the petiole and pointed at the tip. The leaf margin is entire, curved or sometimes with 1 to 3 teeth.

The flowers stand individually in the leaf axils on flower stalks about 2 cm long . The calyx is about 3 to 4.5 cm long and has ten upright veins running through it. It is hairless or sparsely hairy on the outside, irregularly four- or five-lobed. The calyx lobes are narrow triangular, two (or three) are slightly larger and longer and then 2 to 2.5 cm long. The crown is pale yellowish green, occasionally a little purple. The corolla lobes are a bit purple and similar to the calyx lobes. The crown either protrudes only slightly over the calyx or can be up to twice as long and then measures 2.5 to 3 (rarely up to 4) cm. It is hairy and has a purple mark on the outside of the base. The stamens do not protrude beyond the crown and are only about half as long as the crown. The anthers are 5 to 5.6 mm long.

The flower stalk on the fruit extends up to 7 cm and is curved. The calyx enlarges to 3.5 to 4.5 cm. The fruit is a capsule that nods on the stem.

The number of chromosomes is 2n = 48.

Occurrence and locations

Anisodus acutangulus occurs in Sichuan and Yunnan and grows there at altitudes between 2800 and 3100 m on grassy slopes and on waste areas.
