Anisodus luridus is a plant type from the genus Anisodus within the family of the nightshade family (Solanaceae). The species is common in the People's Republic of China .

Vegetative characteristics
Anisodus luridus is a perennial plant that reaches heights of between 5 and 120 cm. The plants are often hairy yellow-brown tomentose. The leaves have a 2 to 4 cm long petiole , their leaf blade is ovate or elliptical and reaches a length of 7 to 15 (rarely up to 22) cm and a width of 4 to 8.5 (rarely up to 11) cm. It is paper-like, particularly hairy along the veins, the underside is generally more hairy. The base of the leaf blade is blunt or slightly descending on the petiole, the leaves are pointed towards the front, the leaf margin is entire or curved.

The flowers stand individually in the leaf axes on 1 to 5 cm long peduncles and are nodding. The calyx is bell-shaped to urn-shaped, is 3 to 3.5 cm long and is clearly covered with wavy ribs, which are particularly hairy at the base. The edge of the calyx is curved or lobed, the calyx lobes are short and occasionally irregular. The crown is pale yellow-green in color and is about 3.5 cm long and protrudes slightly over the calyx. It is often dotted on the inside, the corolla lobes are slightly purple and rounded. The inside of the crown is hairy, the outside is hairy only up to the middle of the corolla tube.
The stamens are hairy, the anthers are about 5 mm long.
fruit
When the fruit ripens, the flower stalk extends to a length of 2 to 2.5 cm and is curved. The calyx doubles in length and encloses the approximately 5 cm long capsule fruit . The calyx lobes can no longer be distinguished and occasionally bald.
Chromosome number
The number of chromosomes is 2n = 48.
Occurrence and locations
The kind occurs in People's Republic of China, Nepal , India and Bhutan ; in China it can be found in Sichuan , southeast Tibet, and northwest Yunnan . It grows on grassy slopes and near mountain rivers at altitudes between 3200 and 4200 m.
