Anita Rauch

Anita Maria Rauch (* 1967 in Amberg ) is a German physician and human geneticist . She has headed the Institute for Medical Genetics at the University of Zurich since 2009 . Her research focuses on the genetic basis of developmental disorders, congenital heart defects and short stature .

life and career

Anita Rauch studied human medicine from 1987 to 1994 at the University of Regensburg , the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg and the University of Umeå in Sweden . From 1994 to 2000 she worked in Erlangen at the Institute for Human Genetics and as an assistant doctor in the children's clinic . During this time she did her doctorate and was recognized as a specialist in human genetics. In 2004 he completed his habilitation in human genetics. Until 2009, Anita Rauch was senior physician and research group leader as well as deputy head of the Institute for Human Genetics in Erlangen. In 2009 she was offered a professorship at the University of Zurich, where she was also appointed director of the Institute for Medical Genetics.
