Anja Augustin

Anja Augustin (* 1974 in Munich ) is a German opera, oratorio, concert and lied singer with a soprano voice .

Life

During her school days she already received musical / artistic training in piano, flute, singing, ballet and jazz dance. Between 1991 and 1994 Anja Augustin often appeared in school and music school projects, including a. in the opera Bastien and Bastienne and in the rock opera Jesus Christ Superstar . She completed her vocal studies (1994–2000) at the Leopold Mozart Conservatory in Augsburg and at the Nuremberg / Augsburg University of Music with Dorothea Chryst . Then she attended advanced training classes from Dorothea Chryst (opera) and Edith Wiens (song). This was followed by master classes and a. with Margreet Honig , Rudolf Janssen and Brigitte Fassbaender . From 1996 to 2003 the soprano was a member of the Vocal Soloists and the Chamber Choir Stuttgart under the direction of Frieder Bernius , with whom she went on concert tours through Europe, the USA, Israel, Asia and Canada.

Guest engagements took Augustin to the theaters of Augsburg and Ulm, where she appeared in operas by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart , Friedrich Händel and Gaetano Donizetti . In 2002 she made her debut at the Bavarian State Opera in Henry Purcell's Dido and Aeneas . In the following years she sang at the Munich Opera a. a. the following roles: Taumännchen in Hansel and Gretel , the base in Madama Butterfly and the 1st noble orphan in Der Rosenkavalier .

The soprano received her first permanent engagement in 2003 at the Erfurt Theater. There she sang Gretel in Hansel and Gretel , Eliza Doolittle in My fair Lady , First Elf in Rusalka , Princess Schafittchen in Das Traumfresserchen , Eva Peron in Evita , Hattie, cloakroom in Kiss me, Kate and other roles.

The highlights of her career were galas in the Prinzregententheater in Munich, the Johann Strauss Festival in Breslau, the Regensburg Cultural Summer and in the Helix Concert Hall in Dublin with the RTÉ Orchestra.
