Anja Berger (born March 5, 1992 in Münster ) is a German goalkeeper .

Career

Anja Berger started playing soccer at VfL in Wolbeck and went through several youth departments. In the summer of 2007 she moved to Gütersloh for FC Gütersloh 2000 in the youth department. After just one year, she moved from the youth team of FC Gütersloh 2000 to regional league club DJK Eintracht Coesfeld in the women's team in summer 2008 . Here, too, she only stayed a year and moved to FSV Gütersloh in the summer of 2009 in the second division squad.

On September 27, 2009, at the age of 17, she made her debut in the 2nd Bundesliga North , away from the Magdeburg FFC , in the starting line-up . This season she made two more games for FSV Gütersloh 2009. In the 2011/12 season the club took second place in the final table of the 2. Bundesliga North, but since the first place, the second team of 1. FFC Turbine Potsdam , was not allowed to move up to the 1st Bundesliga , the FSV Gütersloh moved up in 2009 and was promoted to the 1st Bundesliga . On April 14, 2013, in the home game against Bayern Munich , Anja Berger made her Bundesliga debut . She was also in the starting line-up. After Gütersloh was relegated to the 2nd Bundesliga after just one season, she switched to the 1st Bundesliga club SGS Essen for the new season . After the 2013/2014 season in which she played in three Bundesliga games for Essen, she left the club and interrupted her active career for her exam year of physiotherapy training at the University Hospital Essen.

Anja Berger successfully completed her training as a physiotherapist at the University Clinic in Essen from 2012 to 2015 .
