Purpose and goals

The purpose of the foundation is to preserve the memory of Anna Göldi, who was executed on June 13, 1782. It also aims to provide journalistic support for discriminated marginal groups and minorities as well as victims of arbitrariness and human rights violations.

Processing and rehabilitation

In 2007 Walter Hauser presented his book Der Justizmord an Anna Göldi . During his research he came across new original documents. In this way he was able to prove that the court clerk Johann Melchior Kubli had handed the secret files over to two German journalists who made the case public. The announcement and the resulting outrage ultimately led to Anna Göldi going down in history as the last witch in Europe. Hauser had initiated rehabilitation with his book.

"Anna's Carnifex"

In 2007, Perikles Monioudis was commissioned by the foundation to organize a festival on Göldi. The result was Anna Carnifex's work . Monioudis specifically wanted to tell the story using a character who could develop. This figure is the 19 year old Franz Leonhard Vollmer, the son of the executioner. In August 2010, the Anna Carnifex open-air festival was staged in Mollis . The main role of Carnifex was played by Charles Clerc .
