Betty Legler (born November 18, 1961 ) is a Swiss singer and songwriter.

Legler's first album was released in 1981 ( Betty Legler ) and achieved gold status in Switzerland. Awards for best album, best newcomer and singer of the year followed. Their second album ( Signs ) in 1982 combined them with a European tour and concerts with Chris de Burgh and Fats Domino . At the same time she received various gold, silver and bronze awards from Pop Rocky magazine and a nomination for the Prix Walo. Legler worked with various producers such as Robert Ponger ( Falco ), George Acogny ( Peter Gabriel ) or musicians such as Manu Katché (drums), Pino Palladino (bass), Peter Vetesse (keyboards) and the producers of Annie Lennox and Cutting Crew .

In 1994 Betty Legler released her first independent album, Betty Legler Special Edition , which was sold out without the usual sales channels through retailers, but only through word of mouth. In 1995, she founded his own production company and released on 1995 albums BlessingCurse and BlessingCurse Special Edition , 1999 Humanaut Live Special Edition , 2000 Humanaut Live . From 1995 to 2000 Betty Legler was a member of the Pro Helvetia Board of Trustees .

In 2001 Betty Legler had a daughter and lived with her husband Lars Thomsen (futurologist) in Zurich and Munich . Legler took a break and until 2004 was only active in a few projects of artist friends. During this time, a permanent collaboration with Hans Kennel and Mytha in the field of Alpine world music was established. In 2004 Betty Legler became a member of the board of Suisa (Swiss Society for the Rights of Authors of Musical Works).

In 2005 the first CD for children was released - a fairy tale and children's songs about the dwarf Murrlibutz. Another project in which Betty Legler together with other Swiss "Stars for kids" is a member, is a fundraising CD of UNICEF Switzerland for AIDS - orphans in Rwanda , Pack en Sunnestrahl . Two months after its publication, the CD achieved gold status in Switzerland.
