Sandro Brotz
Sandro Brotz (* 7. October 1969 in Mendrisio as Alessandro Brotz ) is a Swiss journalist and television presenter . From 2012 to 2019 he moderated the Rundschau , since May 2019 the arena of Swiss Radio and Television (SRF).
biography
Sandro Brotz grew up in Dielsdorf and Oerlikon . He completed a commercial apprenticeship at Mövenpick AG Zurich .
In 1988 he worked as a journalist for the Zürcher Quartierzeitung Vorstadt and Radio Zürisee . He also worked at Radio Z , at Stadtzürcher Lokal-TV Züri 1 and at Zürcher Lokalfernsehen Tele Züri . At the SonntagsBlick he was news chief and deputy editor-in-chief . From 1997 to 1999 he worked as a reporter for the Rundschau program on Swiss television. Brotz was part of the founding team of Roger Schawinski's Radio 1 , where he headed the editorial team . At the Sunday newspaper Der Sonntag he was Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Patrik Müller . From July 2012 he worked again at the Rundschau , this time as a moderator. He replaced Urs Leuthard , who had taken over the editorial office of the Tagesschau . From July 2014, Brotz was also deputy editor-in-chief of the Rundschau . In addition, from March 2017 he was the moderator for the “Rundschau talk”, which is broadcast four times a year. In May 2019 he switched from the Rundschau to the political discussion program Arena , which he is now modifying and of which he is deputy director. He succeeded Jonas Projer .
His interview in October 2016 with Syrian President Bashar al-Assad during the civil war for the Rundschau received international attention.
Brotz wrote the book CIA Prisons in Europe with Beat Jost . The fax affair and its aftermath , published in 2006.
Private
Sandro Brotz is divorced and has a son (* 2004). The enthusiastic hobby runner lives in the canton of Zurich . He has been a member of the Board of Trustees of the Anna Göldi Foundation since 2016 .
