Anna Enquist
Anna Enquist (actually Christa Widlund-Broer , born July 19, 1945 in Amsterdam ) is a Dutch writer and poet . She is also a trained concert pianist and psychoanalyst .
Career
Anna Enquist grew up in the Dutch city of Delft (province of South Holland). She studied piano at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague and then clinical psychology in Leiden . Since 1991 she has devoted herself exclusively to her literary work. She has published poems, essays and novels. Some of her novels have been translated into up to fifteen languages. She has received many international literary prizes.
Works
The novel Last Journey , in which Anna Enquist deals with the life of the English seafaring legend James Cook and his wife Elizabeth Cook , was first published in 2006 in German by Hanni Ehlers by Luchterhand Literaturverlag .
In the novel Kontrapunkt , published in Germany in 2008 , she deals with the tragic death of her daughter Margit, who died in a traffic accident in Amsterdam in 2001 at the age of 27 .

- 1993 - Lucy B. and CW van der Hoogtpreis for the Jachtscènes work . For this she was nominated for the European Literature Prize.

- 1997 - Dutch Audience Award for the novel The Secret Secret .
