Anna Maria von Brandenburg-Bayreuth (* December 30, 1609 in Bayreuth ; † May 8, 1680 in Ödenburg ) was a princess of Brandenburg-Bayreuth and by marriage Princess of Eggenberg .

Life

Anna Maria was a daughter of Margrave Christian zu Brandenburg-Bayreuth (1581–1655) from his marriage to Marie (1579–1649), daughter of Duke Albrecht Friedrich of Prussia .

She married on October 23, 1639 in Regensburg Prince Johann Anton I von Eggenberg (1610–1649), Duke of Krumau, who two years later was passed on by his childhood friend Emperor Ferdinand III. also received the princely county of Gradisca . The marriage had been negotiated by Christian Wilhelm von Brandenburg and Prince Johann Anton promised himself Brandenburg support in his claim to the imperial estate .

After the early death of her husband, Anna Maria, together with her father and Wolf von Stubenberg, was responsible for the guardianship and administration of their two underage sons and the Eggenberg estates until 1664. During her guardianship, coins with a joint representation of her two sons were minted in the mint of Krumlov Castle .

Since the father did not leave a will, the sons shared the inheritance in 1665 and 1672 respectively.
