biography
Marno grew up in Wyoming and lives in Steamboat Springs , Colorado . She came to ski racing through her father, who used to be a racer and trainer himself. After reaching the age limit, Marno took part in FIS races for the first time in winter 2007/2008 , and in the next season she started regularly in the Nor-Am Cup . After a few victories in FIS races and first top 10 placements in the Nor-Am Cup, she achieved her first podium in the Nor-Am Cup in December 2010 when she came second in the giant slalom in Panorama . In the same winter she took part in a junior world championship for the first time . In Crans-Montana , Switzerland , she finished 17th in the downhill and 23rd in the Super-G, while she didn't see the finish line in the giant slalom. Shortly after the Junior World Championships, the second podium in the Nor-Am Cup followed with second place in the Super-G in Aspen . However, three days later, on February 14, 2011, the 2010/11 season was over for them. In a fall on the Nor-Am run from Aspen, she suffered a cruciate ligament and meniscus tear in her left knee.
After the injury, Marno achieved four top 10 results in the Nor-Am Cup in the 2011/12 season , but not a podium. At the Junior World Championships in Roccaraso in 2012 , she was 23rd in the Super-G after she was eliminated in the giant slalom in the second round. Marno achieved podium places in the Nor-Am Cup again in the 2012/13 season when she celebrated her first victory in the first Super-G of Copper Mountain on December 1 and came second in the second Super-G the next day. She had to wait over two years until the next Nor-Am win.
Marno made her World Cup debut on November 30, 2013 in the Super-G at Beaver Creek , where she did not finish. She took her first World Cup point on January 24, 2016 with 30th place in the Super-G in Cortina d'Ampezzo . In the 2015/16 season she won the Super-G rating of the Nor-Am Cup. She took part in the World Cup races again in the winter of 2016/17, but only saw one countable result for her, the 28th place in the Super-G in Garmisch-Partenkirchen on January 22, 2017. This was the best result of her career, because in May 2017 she announced her retirement from top-class sport.
