Anne-Marie Barat (born June 20, 1948 in Fontainebleau ; † December 21, 1990 there ) was a French organist .

Life

At the age of eleven she entered the Conservatoire de Paris , where she studied with Henri Challan , Norbert Dufourcq , Pierre Revel , Georges Dandelot , Alain Weber , Marcel Bitsch and Elsa Barraine . In 1970 she joined Rolande Falcinelli's organ class , which she graduated with honors. In 1974 she became organist at Saint-Louis in Fontainebleau. In 1982 she became Henri Doyen's assistant at the Great Organ of Soissons Cathedral , and in 1988 she succeeded him as organist.

She taught at the École Municipale de Musique in Fontainebleau and at the Conservatoire Roger Bourdin in Marly-le-Roi . Among her students were Eric Lebrun and Emmanuel Le Divellec . Since 1987 she has been a professor at the American Conservatory in Fontainebleau. She performed at numerous concerts at home and abroad. On December 21, 1990, she was killed in a traffic accident.
