Anne Linsel

Anne Linsel (* 1942 in Wuppertal ) is a German cultural journalist , filmmaker , documentary film director and publicist .

Career

From 1982 to 1998 Linsel wrote regularly for the weekly newspaper Die Zeit, literary reviews, cultural reports and portraits. From 1984 to 1989 she moderated the ZDF culture magazine Aspects , then the Sunday talks on ZDF. From 1989 until the program was discontinued in 2004, she hosted the ZDF series Witnesses of the Century . Since 1998 Linsel has been writing theater reviews, articles on cultural-political topics and portraits for the Süddeutsche Zeitung . She also moderates and conceptualizes theme evenings and the like for the TV broadcaster Arte. a. about Joseph Beuys , Pina Bausch , Max Ernst , art and politics (with Klaus Staeck ). She works regularly for the radio stations WDR , NDR and Deutschlandfunk .

Since 1985 Linsel has been making documentary films on cultural and political topics for WDR, Arte and 3Sat. Her film Dance Dreams - Young People Dance Kontakthof by Pina Bausch premiered at the Berlinale in 2010 in the Berlinale special category and was later shown at various international film festivals and in cinemas. This film shows pupils from Wuppertal rehearsing a dance performance and the last recordings of the dancer and choreographer Pina Bausch, who died in 2009.

She is a member of the PEN Center Germany .

Awards

In 1994 and 1997, Linsel's documentaries were nominated for the Adolf Grimme Prize . In 2007 she was awarded the Enno and Christa Springmann Prize in Wuppertal . In 2012 she received the most important Wuppertal culture prize, the von der Heydt Culture Prize , which is awarded every two years and is endowed with 12,500 euros.
