Enno and Christa Springmann Foundation
The Enno and Christa Springmann Foundation is a foundation in Germany. It was founded in 1995 by Enno (1926–2017) and Christa Springmann (1929–2017) and is based in Wuppertal .
Description and goal
The foundation's assets were around 760,000 euros in 2009 and the funding volume was 15,000 euros; In 2017, the foundation's assets were around 900,000 euros and the funding volume was 20,000 euros.
The aim of the foundation is to promote art and culture. This is to be achieved by awarding culture prizes for Wuppertal artists. The field of artists extends across all areas of culture. Furthermore, the culture is to be promoted through the purchase of pictures and works of art for the art and museum association Wuppertal , which sees itself as the sponsoring association of the Von der Heydt Museum .
Death of the donor couple
Enno and Christa Springmann were found dead in their house in Wuppertal - Ronsdorf on March 20, 2017 . The police assume a homicide. A grandson of the couple and one of their friends were arrested as suspects in June 2017; the grandson was sentenced to life imprisonment by the Wuppertal district court in November 2018 .
