Ulrike Möltgen (* 1973 in Wuppertal ) is a German illustrator .

Life

Ulrike Möltgen was born in 1973 in Wuppertal . She studied communication design in her hometown at the comprehensive university in Wuppertal and did her diploma with the illustrator and children's book author Wolf Erlbruch . She taught as a lecturer at the Folkwang University of the Arts in Essen. Möltgen became famous in 1997 with her picture book series Der Mondbär , which was created in collaboration with Rolf Fänger and was most recently published by Coppenrath as a picture book as well as in the cinema and TV. Her picture books have received multiple awards and exhibited.

  • November 2009: Start of an exhibition and reading tour with the book project You don't believe me? (Münchner Frühling Verlag) in Munich, Berlin, Hamburg and Düsseldorf.
  • April 2011: Exhibition of two originals from the book At Three on the Trees (Sauerländer Verlag) in the picture book museum Burg Wissem in Troisdorf.
  • September 2011: Exhibition of some originals from the book Alles für die Katz (Hanser Verlag) as part of a book presentation in the Seidl Villa in Munich.
  • January 2015: Exhibition of the originals from the book The Carnival of Animals (Anette Betz) in the gallery for book art in the Villa Hermann in Gustavsburg.
  • March 2015: Exhibition of the originals from So big and so small (Fischer / Sauerländer) in the gallery for book art in the Villa Hermann in Gustavsburg.
  • March 2018: Participation in the benefit exhibition "Art helps" in the art complex gallery in Wuppertal.
  • July 2019: Exhibition in connection with the award ceremony of the Troisdorf Children's Book Prize in the Troisdorf picture book museum.
  • August 2019: Exhibition of the illustrations made for the Inselbücherei (among others) in the Heine House in Düsseldorf.
  • August 2019: Der Vogelschorsch (Jacoby & Stuart) - Exhibition on the book in the Berlin-Mitte City Library.
  • September 2019: Exhibition "Inspiration by Chance" in the old band factory in Wuppertal.
  • December 2019: Participation in the exhibition "Children's Book World" in the Design Forum Vienna.
  • June 2020: Participation in the campaign "out and about - art goes out." with posters of various artists in Wuppertal.
