Nico Ueberholz (born November 25, 1957 as Nicolo Olaf Herman Ueberholz in Wuppertal ) is a German lighting designer , communication designer and architect .

Ueberholz studied architecture and communication design at the Bergische Universität Wuppertal from 1978 to 1984 , after which he worked for two years in the architecture office of his father Herman Ueberholz in Wuppertal. He is the owner and managing director of Ueberholz, which he founded in 1986 . GmbH , which today is an international service provider in communication design. The company's focus is on the three-dimensional staging of rooms in the areas of exhibitions, museum construction, retail , brand consulting , 2D, interior design and other architectural concepts. Nico Ueberholz developed sustainable exhibition concepts such as the Ueberholz 001 exhibition container . The manufactory lights Mary , Jack , Glide and Table designed by him have received international design awards.

Ueberholz. was one of the first two companies at the Light + Building exhibition in Frankfurt in 2012 to bring a T8- size LED tube onto the market that has been certified by the Association of Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies . In 2010, Ueberholz and the Wuppertal Movement won the municipalities in a new light competition with its lighting concept for the northern railway line . In 2011, Nico Ueberholz received an award from the Enno and Christa Springmann Foundation for art in architecture for his personal commitment to architecture . In 2014 he designed and implemented the Ueberholz office building . GmbH in Wuppertal. Ueberholz was invited to participate in the Architecture Biennale in Venice in 2016 , for which he designed the light installation LichtZeitRaum . In 2018, Ueberholz built the new SPACE building , a presentation, conference and exhibition building in Wuppertal.
