Anne Parrish
Anne Parrish (born November 12, 1888 in Colorado Springs , Colorado ; † September 5, 1957 in Danbury , Connecticut ) was an American writer who, in addition to her novel Loads of Love, was best known for her girl-doll adventure Floating Island .
Life
After attending the Philadelphia School of Design for Women, Parrish made her literary debut in 1923 with the novel A Pocketful of Poses . In the following years she wrote three novels: Knee High to a Grasshopper (1923), The Dream Coach (1924) and Lustres (1924), illustrated by her younger brother Dillwyn Parrish , who later became the husband of actress Gigi Parrish .
1930 Anne Parrish's famous puppet adventure for girls appeared floating Iceland , which in German translation for the first time in 1952 under the title The floating island appeared. In addition to her subsequent novel Loads of Love (1932), she wrote numerous other books. Her best known works include:
