Anne Seymour (born September 11, 1909 in New York City , † December 8, 1988 in Los Angeles ) was an American actress .

Life

Anne Seymour came from an old theatrical family whose theatrical roots stretch back to Ireland in the early 18th century . Her great uncle was the character actor Harry Davenport . Her older brothers were also in the film and theater business. James Seymour as screenwriter and John Seymour as actor. Anne Seymour received her acting training from Richard Boleslawski and Maria Ouspenskaya and made her theatrical debut in 1928. She was popular as the leading actress in numerous radio series. In the 1930s, in addition to radio work, she worked exclusively as a theater actress on Broadway . It wasn't until 1949 that she made her screen debut in the Oscar-winning film The Man Who Wanted to Rule . She played the role of Lucy Stark. After that, she appeared only sporadically in movies, but was seen in numerous television films and series from the beginning of the 1950s. She played her last small film role in 1988 in Field of Dreams with Kevin Costner .

Anne Seymour was unmarried and had no children. She was the godmother of Vincent Price's son .
