Anneliese Probst

Anneliese Probst (married name in 2nd marriage: Anneliese Seidler , born March 23, 1926 in Düsseldorf , † October 10, 2011 in Holleben ) was a German writer .

Life

Anneliese Probst lived with her parents in Halle (Saale) since 1933 . She attended a grammar school , where she passed the matriculation examination in 1944 . In the same year she married the lawyer Matthias Probst. The marriage had three children. From 1946 Anneliese Probst wrote literary works. In 1952/53 she worked as a dramaturge for the DEFA children's film studio . After the death of her first husband, she married the pastor Christof Seidler in 1971 . She became a CDU member and was elected city councilor. In 1978 the couple moved to Beesenstedt ( Saalkreis ), where Christof Seidler was pastor until 1994 . After the death of her second husband in 1997, Anneliese Probst lived in a retirement home in Holleben near Halle (Saale).

Anneliese Probst was the author of books for children and young people as well as novels and stories for adults. Since the 1960s her works have been published mainly by the denominational publishers " Evangelische Verlagsanstalt " and " Union Verlag ". The total circulation of her works was more than 1.7 million copies.

Anneliese Probst was a member of the GDR Writers' Association ; In 1990 she was one of the founders of the Association of Writers in Saxony-Anhalt . She drew the ideas for her books from her everyday experience, but also from snatched sentences or notes from the newspaper, and from confronting and dealing with problems in the context of her city council tasks. She named her basic motif: "Let us not love with the word, but with deed and with the truth."

In 1986 she was awarded the Handel Prize of the Halle district .
