Annette Besgen

Annette Besgen (born March 26, 1958 in Schmidt (Nideggen) , actually Anette Theresia ) is a German artist in the creative visual field.

Career

From 1977 to 1984 Besgen studied at the University of Siegen with a focus on painting. The course was followed by an activity as a research assistant in the field of art (painting) until 1990. From 1990 to 2002 he worked in the USA for several months . 1995, 1998 and 1999 stays at the Cité Internationale des Arts Paris with grants from the Federal Republic of Germany and the State of North Rhine-Westphalia . 1999 stay in the International Studio Program (ISP), New York City , again with a grant from the state of North Rhine-Westphalia. 2003 three-month residency and scholarship at the Bemis Center for Contemporary Arts , Omaha , Nebraska . 2003–2004 scholarship from the Pollock-Krasner Foundation , New York City, 2004 three-month residency in Rome , 2007 residency at the Cité Internationale des Arts, Paris .

Private

Besgen lives in Siegen and has her studio in the Kreuztal cultural station . Her daughter is the actress Sarah Maria Besgen . Annette Besgen is married to the writer Ingo Porschien.
