Anni Laakmann (born January 5, 1937 in Ossenberg ) is a German chess champion and has been FIDE women 's champion since 1983 .

Life

Anni Laakmann, chef by trade, was employed by the Stuttgart trams .

It was only at the age of 29 that she learned to play chess, doing self-study from books. In 1970 she became champion of Württemberg-Hohenzollern and in the same year she won the German women's championship. In total, Anni Laakmann won the German Women's Championships four times in a row , namely in 1970 in Lauterbach (Hesse) , 1972 in Burg (Dithmarschen) , 1974 in Kassel and 1976 in Brilon .

She is a member of Mönchfelder SV 1967. Laakmann is listed as inactive at FIDE because she has not played an Elo rated game since 1984 .

International success

Individual tournaments

At the women's zone tournament in Wijk aan Zee in 1973 , which Jana Hartston won, Anni Laakmann was sixth out of 18 participants. She won against Corry Vreeken , among others .

1977 in Bad Kissingen she took third place behind Marta Litinskaja and Gisela Fischdick at the 1st International German Women's Championship .

She took part in the women's chess Olympiad six times for the FRG team, from the 1972 Chess Olympiad in Skopje to the 1982 Chess Olympiad in Lucerne .

At the 1978 Chess Olympiad in Buenos Aires , she won the bronze medal with the German team. She received an individual gold medal for the best result on the women's board at the Nordic Chess Cup in 1973.
