Annika Schach

Annika Schach (born June 10, 1977 ) is a German linguist and has been Professor of Applied Public Relations at Hanover University since January 2017 .

Life

Annika Schach studied social sciences and psychology at the Mercator University in Duisburg , graduating as a social scientist in 2002. She worked as a press officer in Düsseldorf and as a PR manager in Hamburg . From 2006 to 2013 she was in charge of corporate communications for a fashion company. She did her doctorate in German linguistics at the Moritz Arndt University Greifswald on the subject of the editorial competition as a type of text in the field of tension between mass media and brand communication .

Since 2013 she has represented the professorship for applied public relations at the Hanover University of Applied Sciences in the public relations course, and in 2017 she was appointed to the professorship. Her main areas of research and teaching are communication strategy and conception, language and text in public relations, crisis communication and current developments in digital communication. At the same time, she works as a freelance communications consultant, speaker at specialist events and as the author of numerous publications and specialist articles. In 2017, she carried out a cross-faculty international project for the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung with students on the topic of "Renewable Energies in Kazakhstan".

Schach has been the scientific director of the German Academy for Public Relations (DAPR) in Düsseldorf since 2018 . Since September 2018 she has been on a delegation as Head of Communication and City Spokeswoman for the state capital Hanover.

She is a member of the jury for the BdKom Award of the Federal Association of Communicators , the PR Report Awards and is a volunteer member of the board of the German Child Protection Association of Lower Saxony.

Schach is married, has two children and lives in Hanover.
