Film festival in Antalya
The Antalya Film Festival , known as the Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival ( Turkish: Antalya Altın Portakal Film Festivali ), is the most important film festival in Turkey . It was established in 1964 and is currently held in the cultural center of Antalya . The best national and international films are honored with the Golden Orange Award.
history
Originally, the cultural events of the city were in the amphitheater of Aspendos held. A film festival was founded in 1964 on the initiative of the then mayor Avni Tolunay. It should promote Turkish film . The film award (Golden Orange Award) was soon referred to as the Turkish Oscar and was awarded by a seven-member jury in a glass pyramid. In 1998 it was expanded into an international festival. International films have also received awards since 2005. At the same time, the International Eurasian Film Festival took place between 2005 and 2008. The international film festival is organized by the Antalya Art and Culture Foundation and is accredited by FIAPF . The national competitions of 1979 and 1980, which were not held due to the political situation, could be rescheduled in 2011.
