Anthony Šerić [ ˈʃɛːritɕ ] (born January 15, 1979 in Sydney , Australia ) is a former Croatian football player .

Career

society

Born in Australia, Šerić began his professional career in 1996 with the Croatian football club Hajduk Split , where he stayed until 1999.

He then moved to Italy in Serie A , where he played for Hellas Verona , Brescia Calcio , AC Parma and Lazio Rome from 1999 to 2005 . In total, he came to 111 appearances in Serie A, in which he scored two goals.

From 2005 to 2008, Šerić played in Greece for Panathinaikos Athens . After six months at Beşiktaş Istanbul , he returned to Hajduk Split in January 2009, with whom he won the Croatian Football Cup in 2010. In the same year he moved back to Turkey to Kardemir Karabükspor , where he played until 2013. After another season at the then Portuguese first division club SC Olhanense , he ended his career in 2014.

National team

Anthony Šerić was part of the squad of the Croatian national football team at the 1998 , 2002 and 2006 World Cups , but was not used in any of the tournaments. In total, he was used 16 times in the senior national team from 1998 to 2006. He also played with the Croatian national youth team in 1999 at the U20 World Cup in Nigeria .
