Anthony Giroux Meagher

Anthony Giroux Meagher (born November 17, 1940 in Oshawa , Ontario Province , Canada , † January 14, 2007 ) was Archbishop of Kingston in Ontario.

Life

Anthony Giroux Meagher was ordained a priest for the Archdiocese of Toronto on June 17, 1972 .

On April 30, 1997 he was named auxiliary bishop in Toronto and titular bishop of Dura by Pope John Paul II . He was ordained episcopal on June 26th of the same year by the Archbishop of Toronto, Aloysius Matthew Ambrozic . Co- consecrators were Auxiliary Bishop Michael Pearse Lacey from Toronto and the Archbishop of Valencia en Venezuela , Jorge Liberato Urosa Savino .

On April 27, 2002, he was appointed Archbishop of Kingston .

He became known with his series of publications Lines from a Rocking Chair .
