Anthony Hemingway

Anthony Hemingway (* 1977 ) is an American director . He works for series but also for films. He has directed episodes on the television series The Wire and CSI: NY . Before Hemingway started directing , he worked as an assistant director for film and television. Hemingway is the director of Red Tails from 2012.

He is a regular director of CSI: NY .

At The Wire he was assistant director for the first, for the second, and for the third season. He returned in 2006 to direct the episode "What You Don't Want You to Do ...". Show runner David Simon said Hemingway's directorial debut proved what they all knew, "that it was time". Anthony Hemingway's experience led him to direct many other series.

He often works with people he has worked with before. Hemingway began his work in industry on Tom Fontana's Oz - Hell Behind Bars as an assistant director . He later worked with Fontana on The Jury . Anthony was the first assistant director for The Face of Truth , written by The Wire writer Richard Price , where he worked with stars such as Samuel L. Jackson and Julianne Moore . Hemingway worked with Jackson in 2002 for the film Changing Lanes . Anthony often worked with Joe Chappelle (including The Wire , CSI: NY and the film Takedown ).
