Antje von Ungern-Sternberg

Antje von Ungern-Sternberg (* 1974 ) is a German legal scholar.

Life

From September 1993 to February 2001 she studied law and history at the Universities of Freiburg im Breisgau , Münster (February 2001: Magister Artium in History / December 2007: doctorate in law ), Cambridge and Paris ( Paris IV - Sorbonne (September 2000: Maîtrise d'Histoire)). Currently at the chair for public law, including international and European law at the Westfälische Wilhelms-Universität Münster ( Cluster of Excellence Religion and Politics ). From April 2011 / May 2016 to March 2017 she was a senior advisor. Currently at the chair for public law and international law in Munich . She represented chairs from April 2014 to March 2017 in Münster, Potsdam , Göttingen , Hanover and Jena . After her habilitation in June 2015 at the University of Munich with a thesis on the topic of international law and democracy - On the democratic legitimation of national and international law under Christian Walter and the awarding of the teaching qualification for the subjects German and foreign public law, international law, European law and state church law, she received in September 2016 the call (W3) to the University of Trier . Since March 2017 she has held the chair for German and foreign public law, state church law and international law in Trier . She has also been Director of the Institute for Legal Policy at the University of Trier since 2018 and Director of the Institute for Law and Digitization at the University of Trier since 2019.

Her main research interests are comparative constitutional law, international and European law as well as the law of digitization.
