Antoine JA van der Wyk

Antoine Jean Alexandre van der Wyk or native Anton Jan. Alexander van der Wijk (* 3. July 1902 in Amsterdam ; † 25. May 1976 in Geneva ) was a Dutch - Swiss chemical engineer , physicist and chemistry - Professor at the University of Geneva .

Isidore Alexander van der Wijks son comes from Arnhem ; he and his family moved to Vandœuvres in the canton of Geneva . Van der Wyk was married and had a son named Antoine van der Wyk.

Van der Wyk received his diploma as a chemical engineer from Geneva University in 1926 and obtained a doctorate in physics there in 1927 .

From 1927 to 1947 he was a private lecturer in Geneva , from 1947 to 1953 professor (chargé de cours) and from 1953 to 1959 associate professor (professeur associé). Van der Wyk was then appointed by the State Council as an associate professor (professeur extraordinaire) of colloid chemistry and chemical thermodynamics and held this office from 1959 to 1972 in Geneva. Then from October 1, 1972 to 1976, he was employed there as an honorary professor and in the administration of the natural science faculty .
