Anton Fuchs (writer)

Anton Fuchs (also Thomas Elten ; born January 29, 1920 in Vienna ; † August 24, 1995 in Klagenfurt ) was an Austrian writer .

Life

Anton Fuchs passed the Matura in 1938 . He participated in the Second World War as a soldier in the Wehrmacht . In September 1944 he deserted in the Netherlands . After the end of the war he studied medicine for seven semesters and German and philosophy for three semesters at the University of Vienna . From 1957 to 1972 he was an employee of the International Atomic Energy Agency in Vienna. From 1972 he lived as a freelance writer in Klagenfurt . In 1980 he took part in the Ingeborg Bachmann Competition there.

Anton Fuchs' literary work includes novels , short stories and essays .

Anton Fuchs received a. a. 1967 the advancement award of the Wiener Kunstfonds , 1986 and 1974 the Theodor-Körner-Preis for literature and 1989 the Kogge -Literaturpreis.
