Anton Günther I (Schwarzburg-Sondershausen)

Anton Günther I von Schwarzburg-Sondershausen (born January 9, 1620 - † August 19, 1666 ) ruled as count in the residential city of Sondershausen from 1642 .

Life

Count Anton Günther I was the son of Count Christian Günther I of Schwarzburg-Sondershausen (1578–1642), and his wife Countess Anna Sibille (1584–1623), daughter of Count Albrecht VII of Schwarzburg-Rudolstadt.

After the death of the father, the brothers divided the county among themselves and Anton Günther I received the subordinate rule with the exception of the offices that his brother Ludwig Günther II got.

He did a lot for the churches and schools, laid the foundation stone for the town church of Sondershausen , which burned down in 1621, and rebuilt the parish and school buildings that burned down in 1657.

Anton Günther I had been married to Marie Magdalene (1622–1689), daughter of Count Georg Wilhelm von Pfalz-Zweibrück-Birkenfeld , since October 29, 1644 , and had the following children with her:
