Ludwig Günther II. (Schwarzburg-Ebeleben)

Ludwig Günther II of Schwarzburg-Sondershausen zu Ebeleben (* March 2, 1621 ; † July 20, 1681 ) ruled and resided in Ebeleben since 1642 , and in Arnstadt from 1666 .

Life

Count Ludwig Günther II was the son of Count Christian Günther I of Schwarzburg-Sondershausen (1578–1642), and his wife Countess Anna Sibille (1584–1623), the daughter of Count Albrecht VII of Schwarzburg-Rudolstadt.

After the death of their father, the brothers divided the county among themselves and Ludwig Günther II received the offices of Ebeleben , Schernberg , Keula and from the office of Clingen the city of Greußen , Clingen , Großenehrich and Rohnstedt . He resided in Ebeleben until 1666 and after the death of his brothers in Arnstadt , of whose sons he was the guardian.

After the death of his nephew Johann Günther IV, he and his nephews Christian Wilhelm and Anton Günther II assumed the supremacy , which they ruled together.

He died in 1681 without male descendants, so that the Ebeleben branch line died out again and his nephews inherited him.

Ludwig Günther II had been married to Concordia (1648–1683), the daughter of Johann von Sayn-Wittgenstein , since September 30, 1669 , and had the following children with her:

  • Anna Auguste (1671–1688)
  • Concordie (1672-1687)

The widow married Count Karl Ludwig zu Sayn-Wittgenstein-Neumagen (* June 20, 1658 - † September 16, 1724) in 1681.
