Anton Greven (painter)
Johann Anton Greven (* 1810 in Cologne ; † December 18, 1838 there ) was a German genre painter and lithographer from the Düsseldorf School .
Life
Greven, short of stature and suffering from kyphosis , studied at the Düsseldorf Art Academy . There he was a student of Theodor Hildebrandt from 1831 to 1836 , who certified that he had good talents. Within the Düsseldorf school, Greven belonged to the circle around Johann Peter Hasenclever . He portrayed him as the central figure in the genre picture of the studio scene . Greven moved to Munich with Hasenclever in 1838 .
