Anton Hahnisch
Anton Hähnisch (born October 28, 1817 in Vienna , † 1897 in Karlsruhe ) was an Austrian painter , draftsman and lithographer .
Anton Hähnisch studied at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna . After graduating, he went on several study trips and stayed longer in Berlin and Frankfurt am Main . Since 1836 he exhibited his works in Vienna's St. Annahof .
He also visited Paris , London and Edinburgh between 1850 and 1862 , and Rome from 1872–1873 . After returning home, he settled in Berlin and in the last years of his life in Karlsruhe .
Hahnisch created miniature portraits, watercolors (also on ivory and frosted glass) and pastels .
He became known as a portraitist of the nobility and princely houses, including Crown Prince Friedrich Wilhelm of Prussia and his sister Luise of Prussia , later Grand Duchess of Baden. He also portrayed the writer Franz Grillparzer .
Hänisch also made numerous portrait lithographs .
