Anton Hacker (born September 15, 1879 in Mauggen, a district of Bockhorn (Upper Bavaria) ; † July 11, 1942 in Bremen ) was a German engineer and Bremen port construction director.

biography

Hacker graduated from high school in 1897 and studied civil engineering at the Technical University of Munich , becoming a graduate engineer in 1903. He expanded his training to become a government building supervisor and was appointed government building master in 1906 . In 1907 he received an engineering position at the Bremen Building Inspection in the area of ​​port expansion. First he was the construction manager for the new lock at the industrial and commercial port. In 1913 he was appointed head of the new construction department of the Bremen Port Authority.

During the First World War he served as a lieutenant , then as naval port builder and head of the port construction department in Ostend . In 1918 he returned to Bremen. At the beginning of 1922 he became port construction director and in August 1922 head of the port construction authority in Bremen. During his time there were various expansions of the port facilities and the construction of new ports and the inland port to the left of the Weser. The Weser also experienced a small correction in the area of ​​the expanding Werft AG Weser .
