Anton Lux (politician)

Anton Lux (born March 19, 1878 in Nieder-Florstadt , † August 31, 1953 in Nieder-Weisel ) was a Hessian politician ( SPD ) and a member of the Hessian state parliament .

education and profession

After elementary school, Lux did an apprenticeship as a paver . He later worked as an innkeeper in Nieder-Florstadt. From 1899 to 1901 he did military service. He was also a soldier in the First World War from 1914 to 1918.

politics

From 1902 Lux was a member of the SPD. From 1905 he was a member of the local council, from 1908 alderman and from 1927 mayor of Nieder-Florstadt. In 1933 he was removed from office by the National Socialists. In 1944 he was arrested and interned in the Dachau concentration camp . After the Second World War he was again mayor of his home parish and remained in this office until his death in 1953.

Between January 26, 1919 and July 7, 1933, Lux was a member of the Landtag of the People's State of Hesse . After the war, he was again a member of the Hessian state parliament from December 1, 1946 until his death on August 31, 1953. In 1950 he was the age president of parliament. In 1949 he was a member of the 1st Federal Assembly .

family

Anton Lux's father, Ernst Karl Lux, was also a paver. His mother was Maria Lux, née Emmerich. Anton Lux married Katharina Schaubach on December 19, 1906. Anton Lux was Protestant.
