Anton Oomen

Anton Oomen MAfr (born February 16, 1876 in Ginneken en Bavel , Netherlands ; † August 19, 1957 ) was a Dutch Roman Catholic religious and vicar apostle of Mwanza .

Life

Anton Oomen who entered religious community of White Fathers in and received on 23 March 1901, the sacrament of Holy Orders .

On March 18, 1929, Pope Pius XI appointed him . the titular bishop of Zattara and Vicar Apostolic of Mwanza. The retired Vicar Apostolic of Victoria-Nyanza, Joseph Franciskus Marie Sweens MAfr, donated him episcopal ordination on July 21 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were the Vicar Apostolic of Bukoba , Burkhard Huwiler MAfr, and the Vicar Apostolic of Tabora , Joseph Georges Edouard Michaud MAfr.

Anton Oomen resigned as Vicar Apostolic of Mwanza on June 13, 1948.
