Anton Schosser

Anton bolters (* 7. June 1801 in Stiedelsbach, community Losenstein ; † 26. July 1849 in Steyr ) was an Upper Austrian native and folk poets.

Life

Schosser, the son of a nail smith, attended grammar school in Melk for four years , after which Pastor Pislinger occupied him with geometry and situation signs. He subsequently became a school assistant in Leonstein and later a school teacher in Kleinreifling ; later he earned his living as a geometer, while he stayed in Gmunden for a long time .

His dialect songs, texts on existing melodies, were published in a book with the title Naturbilder from the life of the mountain dwellers in the border Alps between Steyermark and the Traunkkreis (Steyr 1849, 2nd edition 1850).

In his honor, a street (Schosserstraße) and an Alpine Club hut ( Anton-Schosser-Hütte ) are named after him in Steyr .
