Anton Tiefenthaler

Anton Tiefenthaler (born May 11, 1929 in Hall in Tirol ; † January 16, 1982 in Innsbruck ) was an Austrian painter.

Life

His parents were Anton Johann Tiefenthaler from Mils (1897–1976), farmer and freight carrier, and Maria, geb. Angerer (1898-1932).

From the age of 14 he had contact with the teacher and writer from the Brenner district, Daniel Sailer . After attending primary school in Mils bei Hall and secondary school in Hall, he attended the state trade school in Innsbruck from autumn 1944. From autumn 1945 to summer 1948 he was a student in the arts and crafts department at the Federal Trade School under the teachers Jörg Srnka-Hohenlindegg, Helmut Rehm and Toni Knapp. From autumn 1949 to summer 1953 he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna with Professors Sergius Pauser and Herbert Boeckl . In the first year of his studies he moved into a shared apartment with Wilfried Kirschl , then with Norbert Drexel and Elmar Kopp .

Since 1953 he worked as a freelance painter in Tyrol. From 1953 he went on study trips and stays abroad.
