Anton "Toni" Tremmel (born November 26, 1994 ) is a German ski racer . His strengths lie in the technical disciplines, slalom and giant slalom. He belongs to course group Ib.
Tremmel became a member of the Rottach-Egern ski club at the age of five and made the decision to participate in competitive sports at the age of 14. Two years later he switched to the Christophorus Schools in Berchtesgaden . Tremmel already took part in an FIS race in St. Moritz in 2009 . In this one he drove straight into the points. Four years later he was able to win an FIS race, the slalom in Oberjoch, for the first time. Due to the good performance he was nominated for the first time for the European Cup shortly afterwards . Here he was slowly able to establish himself and was also registered for the first World Cup races in 2018 .
At the beginning of the 2018/19 season , Tremmel scored his first World Cup points in the slalom in Levi, Finland, in 27th place. In parallel to other appearances in slalom World Cup races, he also competed in the European Cup, where he celebrated his first podium in a parallel slalom in early February 2019. Tremmel was surprisingly nominated for the World Championships in Åre . Due to the still healing shoulder injury of Stefan Luitz and the resignation of Felix Neureuther , he was used in the team competition and took fourth place with the team. He also competed in the slalom competition and was the 25th best-placed German starter.
