Anton von Bodungen

Anton Christoph Ludwig Wilhelm Adolf von Bodungen (born March 20, 1761 in Lengröden , † April 3, 1850 in Heiligenstadt ) was a German landowner, district administrator and member of the Bodungen noble family .

Bodungen was a son of the Electoral Mainz Chamberlain Karl Christian Wilhelm von Bodungen (1722–1788) and his wife Philippine Ernestine Henriette nee. von Hagen from the house of Rüdigershagen († 1773). He was of Protestant denomination and married Karoline Johanne Eleonore von Hagen on July 15, 1787 in Kassel (* October 16, 1764; † April 16, 1825)

Anton von Bodungen was Herr zu Martinfeld. The Martinfeld Castle was the manor house where the family since 1611th He initially embarked on a military career and was last electoral Hessian Rittmeister of the Gardes du Corps.

From 1799 he was district administrator in Eichsfeld . District administrator was here an honorary post. In 1806 the Prussian rule ended and the Eichfeld became part of the Kingdom of Westphalia

Anton von Bodungen was from 1808 to 1813 a member of the district council of the Heiligenstadt district and from 1808 to 1813 prefectural council in the department of the Harz . From 1808 to 1813 he was there also a member of the department electoral college and from June 2, 1808 to October 26, 1813 a member of the imperial estates of the Kingdom of Westphalia for the Harz department and the electoral group of landowners.

In 1816 he was first royal Prussian district administrator in the district of Mühlhausen i. Th. And then from 1816 to 1841 of the district of Heiligenstadt . He was a legal knight of the Order of St. John .
