Antonia Campbell-Hughes

Antonia Campbell-Hughes (born September 19, 1982 in Derry , Northern Ireland ) is a British actress and model . She became known in German-speaking countries for her role in the film drama 3096 Days (2013).

Life

The daughter of an Irish mother and an English father grew up in Northern Ireland, Ireland , the USA , Germany and Switzerland . Campbell-Hughes initially worked as a fashion designer and model, but gave up in 2005 in favor of her film career.

Career

Campbell-Hughes began her career in 2005 in British television series and films such as Silent Witness , Casualty , Blackbeard - The True Curse of the Caribbean and Spooks - In the Sight of MI5 . She received her first major notoriety and critical acclaim for her role as Sam in the British comedy series Lead Balloon . From 2011 she worked in cinema productions such as Albert Nobbs and Storage 24 .

From May 2012 to the beginning of 2013 she was in the title role of Natascha Kampusch for the film biography 3096 Days in Germany and Austria. She lost 18 kilograms of her body weight for the recordings. The world premiere of the film took place on February 25, 2013 in Vienna . In 2014, she starred in the Irish horror film The Canal and in 2015 in the French drama Les Cowboys , which premiered at the 2015 Cannes Film Festival .
