Antonino Lo Sciuto

Antonino Lo Sciuto (born March 21, 1945 in Castelvetrano , Sicily ) is an Italian police officer and politician .

Lo Sciuto studied law at the University of Rome and initially worked as a lawyer. In 1971 he joined the police service, first as a vice-commissioner in Genoa , then from 1972 to 1981 as head of the office for criminal investigation and responsible for the criminal investigation department in Bolzano . He then returned to Rome, where he was involved in founding the police union SIULP , of which he was general secretary from 1987 to 1993.

1993 Lo Sciuto was appointed head of Bursary appointed Bolzano. In 1998 he resigned from this office in order to run for the Lista Civica - Forza Italia - Centro Cristiano Democratico in the state and regional council elections, but could not win a mandate. As a result, he was transferred to the Italian Ministry of the Interior. After Beniamino Migliucci resigned as a member of parliament in 1999 , Lo Sciuto took his place in the South Tyrolean state parliament and the regional council of Trentino-South Tyrol until the end of the 2003 legislative period .
