Antonio Ananiew ( Bulgarian Антонио Ананиев , English transcription: Antonio Ananiev ; born May 8, 1965 in Sofia ) is a former Bulgarian football player .

career

The married (two daughters) Bulgarian National goalkeeper Antonio Ananiev (15 Caps ) came in 1994 from Bulgaria , where he for the clubs Lokomotiv Sofia , CSKA Sofia and PFC Slavia Sofia was active, after Germany . The FC Energie Cottbus signed him again after he had been with the Lausitzers for a year and a contract in 1990/91. He stood there between the posts for two years. 1. FC Köln brought him to the 1st Bundesliga in 1996 , where he played four times. After Bodo Illgner moved to Real Madrid shortly after the start of the 1996/97 season , the Cologne team needed a new substitute goalkeeper behind Michael Kraft, who had risen to number one . He made his debut in the Bundesliga on October 26, 1996, the 12th match day, in a 3-1 win over FC Schalke 04 , when Kraft was injured. Ananiew would have played more if he hadn't seen the red card on matchday 15 against HSV in the 90th minute for gross foul play. The FC was forced to use Daniel Eschbach - the goalkeeper of their own amateurs - the fourth goalkeeper. After only one season he went back to the new federal states for VfB Leipzig . There he came to 14 missions within a year. That was not enough for him and a reason to leave the Saxons after only one season. He moved on to Chemnitzer FC . Chemnitzer FC started an almost eerie winning streak and Antonio Ananiew remained clean for over 1100 minutes. At the end of this season, Chemnitz FC achieved promotion to the 2nd Bundesliga . For Chemnitz he was the absolute darling of the public and was in goal in 48 second division matches. In 2002 he ended his active career.

After his active career he was first a scout and assistant coach at Chemnitzer FC. He then became a goalkeeping coach at Al-Nasr Sports Club Dubai . From 2006 to 2010 he worked as a scout, talent trainer and goalkeeper trainer at FC Energie Cottbus. He runs a football school in Cottbus.

For the Bulgarian national soccer team Ananiew was in goal in 15 games.
