Antonius Church

The Antoniuskirche in Nostra in the municipality of Lesachtal is 1045 meters above sea level. The church, consecrated to St. Anthony of Padua , is a branch of the Roman Catholic parish of Kornat .

Building description

The church, built in 1703, was expanded in 1832. The church is a three-axis building with a three-eighth closure, western roof turret , a portal with a straight lintel and composite window. On the gable wall, marked 1796, the murals of St. Christopher and a Man of Sorrows from 1717 appearing to St. Antonius can be seen.

In the flat-roofed nave there is a swinging wooden gallery from 1893. The church saint Antonius is painted on the ceiling of the nave. The ceiling painting of the choir depicts the Assumption of Mary. The windows are framed by painted tendrils and flowers. On the altar wall an illusionistic canopy and Saint Anthony are depicted.

Facility

The high altar with sacrificial portals from around 1800 bears the late Baroque figures of Saints Anthony, Laurentius and Stephanus , the statuettes of Saints Peter , Paul , New Year's Eve and John the Baptist, as well as a small-figure Pietà and a good shepherd above the sacrificial portals . There is a Lourdes grotto in the north wall . The church also features a console figurine of Christ in Mourning , a mother of God with child and a rural oil painting of St. Anthony from the 19th century.
