Antony Anandarayar (born July 17, 1945 in Varadarajanpet ) is a Roman Catholic clergyman and Archbishop of Pondicherry and Cuddalore .

Life

Antony Anandarayar was ordained a priest on December 21, 1971 .

Pope John Paul II appointed him Bishop of Ootacamund on January 2, 1997 . The Cardinal Prefect Emeritus of the Congregation for the Eastern Churches , Duraisamy Simon Cardinal Lourdusamy , donated him episcopal ordination on January 29 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were James Masilamony Arul Das , Archbishop of Madras-Mylapore , and Michael Augustine , Archbishop of Pondicherry and Cuddalore. As a motto he chose Servire in Fide et in Amore .

He was named Archbishop of Pondicherry and Cuddalore on June 10, 2004, and was introduced to office on July 5 of the same year.
