Aouloumatt

Aouloumatt (also: Aoulloumat , Aoulloumatt , Aouloumat ) is a village in the municipality of Madaoua in Niger .
The village, run by a traditional chief ( chef traditionnel ), is located around 17 kilometers northeast of the city center of Madaoua, which belongs to the Madaoua department of the same name in the Tahoua region. It is on a feeder of the Tarka Valley . The closest villages in the vicinity of Aouloumatt are Madetta about 3.6 kilometers to the north-west, Gandassamou about 4.3 kilometers to the southeast and Léyma about 4.9 kilometers to the east.
At the 2012 census, Aouloumatt had 6178 inhabitants who lived in 840 households. At the 2001 census, the population was 4,013 in 658 households.

In Aouloumatt there is a simple health center without its own laboratory or maternity ward. The village was home to one of five nutrition centers in the south of the Tahoua region, in which the organization Doctors Without Borders cared for around 7,000 children under the age of five from 2005 to 2012.
