Apostolos Kaklamanis

Apostolos Kaklamanis ( Greek Απόστολος Κακλαμάνης ) (born September 7, 1936 in Lefkada ) is a Greek politician .

Kaklamanis studied law. In 1961 he joined the Enosis Kendrou of Georgios Papandreou . After the end of military rule (1967–1974) he was one of the founding members of the social democratic PASOK

Kaklamanis was first elected to the Greek Parliament as a member of PASOK in 1974 and has been re-elected in all elections since then.

He held ministerial posts in several governments: he belonged to Andreas Papandreou's cabinets from 1981 to 1982 and again in 1988 as Minister of Labor, 1982 to 1986 as Minister for National Education and Religious Affairs, 1985 as Minister for Research and Technology, 1986 to 1987 as Minister of Justice, 1987 to 1988 to the Prime Minister as Minister, 1988 to 1989 as Minister for Health and Social Security, the transitional government of Xenophon Zolotas as Minister of Labor.

From October 22, 1993 to March 19, 2004 he was President of Parliament.
