Appetshofen is a parish village and part of the Bavarian community Möttingen in the Swabian district of Donau-Ries . On January 1, 1975, Appetshofen and its district Lierheim were incorporated into the unified community of Möttingen as part of the regional reform .

history

For centuries, Appetshofen belonged to the Oberamt Alerheim of the Counts of Oettingen. In the 16th century there was also a local nobility - the barons of Appetzhofen . Paul von Appetzhofen was administrator of the Swabian bailiwick in Altdorf. A granddaughter of Paul, Anna Maria Feldmann, was married to Adam Schäfer, a branch of the gentlemen giving . Parts of the former manor Cronheim belong to this family today.
