Aprilynne Pike (* 1981 in Salt Lake City , Utah , United States ) is an American author, best known for her debut novel Elfenkuss (original title: Wings ), which was first published in English on May 5, 2009. Her first novel reached number one on the Children's Best Seller List, a sub-category of the Best Seller List published by The New York Times . This made Pike the best-selling, non-celebrity debut children's author of 2009. Her second novel Elfenliebe (original title Spells ), which was released on May 4, 2010, also made it onto the New York Times best-seller list.

Life

Aprilynne Pike was born in Salt Lake City and grew up in Phoenix ( Arizona on). At the age of twenty Pike acquired at Lewis-Clark State College in Lewiston ( Idaho concluding) Bachelor of Arts in the Department of Creative Writing .

Influences

Pike cited several authors who influenced her writing, including youth writers Lois Lowry and Stephenie Meyer , who promoted Pike's debut novel in blurb .
