The Apuka ( Russian Апу́ка ) is a 296 km long tributary of the Bering Sea in the northeast of the Kamchatka region .

River course

The Apuka rises in the Korjakengebirge at an altitude of about 1000  m . It flows mainly in a southerly direction through the mountains. At river kilometer 110, below the confluence of the left tributary Achaivayam , the village of Achaivayam is on the right bank of the river . The Apuka turns in the lower 110 kilometers towards the south-southwest. It finally flows into the Oljutorski Bay . The village of Apuka is located on a spit east of the mouth . The mouth of the Pachacha is 20 km to the west.

The catchment area of the Apuka is located in the Oljutorski district and covers an area of ​​13,600 km². The mean discharge of the Apuka is 340 m³ / s.

Fish fauna

There are five species of Pacific salmon in the Apuka river system : sockeye salmon , king salmon , ketal salmon , pink salmon and silver salmon .
